A curious-minded & joyful therapist - her kind yet astute observations support positive long-term change
Lara is from a mixed heritage background and grew up in central London. She previously worked in international conflict and urban development in India and Mexico before returning to London and working as a Research fellow in the War Studies Department at King's College London. She has a strong interest in conflict resolution as well as experience with groups and individuals suffering from deprivation, conflict and trauma. She also has experience working in bereavement and loss, relationships and sexuality, and trauma in both adults and children. She is currently focussed on working with those who struggle with identity issues stemming from multi/dual heritage and racism.
Lara is an accredited BACP integrative psychotherapist (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) with a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB - Counselling and Psychotherapy Awarding Body) as well as an MA (International Relations). She is a BACP member and also a member of the Black, African & Asian Therapy Network (BAATN). Lara works in person at The Brixton Practice, Clapham and central London as well as online, where she has experience working with an eclectic mix of clients including, within the construction industry, Wandsworth NHS referred adult patients, young people (aged 16-25) as well as long-term/open ended clients.
